In May 1951, Visva-Bharati was declared to be a Central University and "An Institution of National Importance" by an Act of Parliament. It was granted the status of a unitary, teaching and residential university. The status and function of all the major institutions have been redefined in successive Amendment Acts and the University has continued to grow by giving accreditation to new institutions in response to needs newly felt. Applications are invited for the posts mentioned below in the prescribed scale of pay with allowances and benefits as per university rules.

Application Form : Prescribed application forms along with the details of the advertisement are available from the office of the Registrar, Visva-Bharati, P.O.-Santiniketan, Pin- 731235 on payment of Account Payee DD drawn on State Bank of India, Santiniketan branch in favour of Registrar, Visva-Bharati towards cost of forms mentioned below with self addressed Stamped envelope (11 c.m. X 26 c.m.) of Rs 45/- for nine copies and Rs 15/- for one copy. The application form can be downloaded from the website at http://www.visva-bharati.ac.in/appointments/appl-form-emp.pdf . In that case, the application form in prescribed numbers of copies along with the fees for forms in D.D. may be sent as indicated below. However, an application in the University’s prescribed form shall have to be submitted if asked for before appearing of the Selection Committee.

Fee : For pay scale of Rs.8,000-275-13,500/-and above Rs. 200/- and (2) For pay scale up to Rs.6,500-200-10,500/- Rs. 100/- SC/ST candidates will be required to pay only 25% of normal application cost. Physically handicapped candidates (handicapped 40% or above) are exempted from payment of fees for forms.

How to Apply : Application on prescribed form along with 9(nine) photo copies of properly filled in application form for the pay scale Rs.6,500-10,500/- and above and one set of true copies of testimonials, Certificates and two recent passport size Photographs (non-returnable) duly attested by a Gazetted Officer/ Principal, Govt. College/ Head Master, Govt. School/ M.P.,M.L.A. should reach the Registrar, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, Dist-Birbhum, Pin- 731235. The last date for submission of application is on or before 31st July, 2007.
